Keeping your cushion clean through a full season

Wipe it when you get home, not next week. A damp cloth and a drop of mild washing-up liquid handles almost everything if you do it while the mess is fresh.

Never put it in the washing machine or the tumble dryer. The drum crushes the foam and the heat deforms it permanently.

Dry it flat and in the open air, away from a radiator. Folding a damp cushion away is how a cushion starts to smell.

Store it unfolded when you can. If it stays folded between games, give it an hour flat on a table after a wet game.

Check the fold line once a month. If it looks tired, lay the cushion flat overnight and the foam recovers.
